Full-time Faculty Experience
Instructional Specialist – Teaching (Associate Faculty), Dallas College Richland Campus, Dallas, TX | Oct 2017 – Present
- Teaching college-level English to speakers of other languages as part of the Richland Campus American English and Culture Institute (AECI), an accredited intensive English program for international students.
- Additional duties include further engaging students through one-on-one tutoring, maintaining regular weekly office hours, leading professional development workshops, facilitating extracurricular workshops for students, and coordinating with co-teachers as part of a learning community.
- Member of the ESOL Program’s Assessment Initiative, which involves conducting research, holding regular professional development sessions for faculty, running program-wide exam analyses, linguistic tagging and analysis of student responses, and supporting the program’s implementation of relevant pedagogical research.
- Member of the ESOL Program’s Grammar Curriculum Review Committee and its associated Research Subcommittee, tasked with a full overhaul of grammar instruction.
